subconscious mind review

In the last several emails I have spoken about the need for incremental learning and offered two exercises. These exercises are designed to increase your understanding of how the subconscious mind operates. (refer to email 30)

A couple of weeks back in email 5 I had suggested that closing the GAP between where we are and where we want to be requires us to become absolutely positively obsessed (A.P.O.) about becoming the CEO of our lives.

Becoming A.P.O. does not mean that we approach the mind in a forceful or demanding manner. Rather, it means being willing to experiment, be curious and mindful.

We are more apt to absorb information when we are relaxed and having fun. The exercises suggested are playful ways to interact with the subconscious mind.

We can try to influence the subconscious mind:

a.-by gentle incremental encouragement-imagine your subconscious mind (aka internal robot) skipping along willingly, down a new cow path, open to suggestion and behaving like a curious child ready to learn.

b.-by sheer force and willpower-imagine your subconscious mind (aka internal robot) being dragged down a new cow path and get a sense of it digging its heels in, kicking, fussing, and behaving like a stubborn child.

Do your best to get a sense or a visual of both scenarios above. We can be A.P.O. and have a sense of pleasurable absorption in a learning activity. This is usually how we learned best as children.

When we chose A, we are recognizing the learning needs of the subconscious mind and beginning to develop a respectful relationship with it.

If you have not yet played with the exercises I encourage you to make some time to do so now.
