The majority of people turn to traditional addiction resources before considering alternative support. For example:
- Support groups AA, NA,
- In/out patient treatment
- Medical interventions (detox, pharmaceuticals)
Since the struggle still continues for most people, it should go without saying that an important piece of the puzzle is not being addressed. There is no “one” method of treatment that works 100% of the time for 100% of people.
Other then those unfortunate incidences of alcohol/drug withdrawal in newborns, it is important to remember that no one is born an addict or problem user.
We are born with original potential. This potential is numbed overtime by our decisions and social programming. For most people, addictions and problem use are learned and become subconsciously driven.
The subconscious mind learns to accept an identity and seeks to maintain the status quo until it is re-educated. The goal is to "relapse" to original potential.
